Willow, January 2006 Well, then new year begins! I is interesting to look back and review the facts of my racing history. In 2004, in January, I ran a great race turning 1:27's consistently. I have yet to repeat that in spite of a LOT of effort. To be fair, 2005 was sort of a bust because of the bike rebuild and getting my confidence back, but man, this is HARD. The 999 is not working as well as the 748 did. I really got a great bike when I bought that. It was completely set up.The 999 is a nice bike, but it is not a race bike, and to make it one is clearly going to take some effort. I remain uncomfortable with the front end, and the bike has a head shake when it gets up to top speed at the start/finish. Gotta fix that. Because I am on a 999 now, I have to race a bunch of different classes. I am now in BOTT Heavyweight, F40 Heavyweight, and F-Twins. Whew, this is definitely going to be a challenge. I got an 8th in F40HW, 6th in BOTT HW, and 5th in F-Twins. So far, my best time on this bike is a 1:33! Yikes! Got some work to do! |
